Creating a Nice Bun Look Using a Sock
  •  Hair works best when it is slightly Damp.  Simply use a water bottle and spray the hair to hold short ends or fly-away hairs down. Bobby pin where needed.  OR you can just use hair spray as shown in the videos below.
  • Do NOT completely wet the hair, especially short hair.  If it's too wet the hair sticks together and doesn't cover the sock very well.
  • One hair is up in the pony tail, use hair spray or hair gel to keep it in place.  Use bobby pins to hold the hair down around the sock and spray with hairspray afterwards.

Materials
Water Bottle
Hair Gel
Hair Spray
Bobby Pins
Elastic Bands
1 Sock with toe end cut off (preferably same color as hair color).  Length of sock is not as important...but a good choice is a men's dress sock.

For shorter hair, use a shorter sock works best.

March Trained Dancer: Manners

Good Manners and Common Courtesy help make you an exceptional individual and will create more favorable relationships. Are there any manners you are lacking or that could use improving?  I know after some research of my own,  I realized I too could improve on somethings, especially with my own family.   Do some research, and see what you can learn.   It's more than a manner, it's You as a person.

challenge Your Challenges: January trained Dancer

1/14/2015

This month our dancers have been encouraged to challenge their challenges.  This means, pick something from class that is a bit challenging, and work on it at home.  In order to see results, we must first make a plan: Decide how many days you will practice and for how long.  Then follow that plan.  If you do, you will notice a difference in your ability to perform that particular move. Go ahead, put it to the test and see if you can challenge your challenges this month.

Parent observation Week

12/20/2014

So this week was a highlight for me. I did something new that I hadn't done before.
We invited in, as a "special guest" our parents,  to watch their dancer perform and demonstrate the things they have learned since September.  Each class was a bit different, but overall, the dancers had a positive experience.  It was great to be able to tell the parents, this is what your child has been learning, here are some tips you can help them with at home, and this is why we are doing this move or skill.

...
Then...., some of our students were able to show their parents how to do certain moves.  It was AWESOME to watch our dancers teach their parents.  And even though there was some shyness from the parents to want to participate, I KNOW the it was a positive and neat thing to do with their child.  Thank you Parents for getting out there on the floor and dancing with your child!  They will NEVR forget it!   ~ MEMORy  MAdE
 ...Check (:
....
Another MEMORy MAdE was when we performed for the elderly at some local Assisted living homes This month and Last.  We are so grateful to them for letting us come in and perform and Spread some Holiday/Christmas Cheer through song and Dance.

A Random Act of Kindness...

12/15/2014

Thank you to all our classes who donated shoes to help a village in Africa to purchase a well. Together we donated 122 pairs of shoes. The shoes will be taken over to Africa and sold.  The money received will then be used to purchase a well for clean water.  Many children walk miles a day along dangerous roads, to get their water.  This well will be a gift that never stops giving!  It will also help save lives as many people get sick and later die from the unclean water.  My heart goes out to these people.  Thank you to those who are getting the shoes to Africa, Thank you to those who donated the shoes,  Thank you to those who initiated the whole idea!!  Thank you to God for all the wonderful blessings we enjoy simply by living in America!  We truly are so blessed!  I am so humbled by all the good people that are a part of my life! Thank you for your goodness.  I pray for you and your families.  Merry Christmas to all and May God BLESS EVeRyOnE !

November's Trained Dancer Results...

11/21/2014

What a sweet and special treat it is to read all the wonderful things our dancer's had to say about the people they admire.  For many, moms and dads were the number one pick!  And I second that(:  Some other wonderful people they admire are teachers, cousins, brothers, sisters, and friends.

Here are some Highlights:
  • My Dad inspires me because he is a responsible person, kind, caring, Awesome, and strong.
  • I admire my Teacher because she helps kids learn new things and I want to like her someday.
  • I admire my Friend because she uses nice words, i want to work on being nice like her. (what a great friend)
  • I admire my Mom because she never gives up , she takes care of me, she is a Queen to me, she keeps our house clean, and she loves, Marilyn Monroe.  (So cute:)
  • I admire my Dad because he protects my family, he is Honest, he reads stories to me, and he always is there for me.
  • I admire my Cousin because they are funny, nice, and makes me laugh.
  • I admire my Mom, because she is pretty,  caring, fun, helpful, patient, loving, hard working, and shares with me.
  • I admire my Sister because she is caring, smart, takes me places, is very talented on the violin and guitar, and is Kind.
  • I admire my Brother because he is always there for me, he plays with me, he shares, is nice, cheers me up, is funny, gives good hugs, is happy, and is my FRIEND!   (Everything a brother should be)
  • I admire my mom because she is helpful, beautiful, makes good food, is funny, and encourages me by saying "you can do it", she helps me by making me feel better.

These are some of the best things we could have someone say about us.  Thank you dancers for sharing your special person with me.  Because of their influence in your life, I know that someday others will say the same thing about you!!   Hugs,  Mrs. Amy(;

Who Do You Admire ?

For November our goal is to think of someone you admire.  What kind of traits do they have that you would like to posses?  How does this person impact your life for the better?
We all can make a difference in another's life, from a friend to a neighbor to a teacher and especially as a parent.
Whether your 6 or 99, I believe we can be an influence for good.  We learn best by watching others as well as the experiences we have with others.  Make it a goal to learn from those who impact your life for good, then identify what is is that makes them the way they are.  Decide to be that kind of person for yourself and for the lives you touch. What do you want your legacy to be....

Spend some time learning more about your heritage. Grandmas, Grandpas, and those who have passed on.  It can be very inspiring and fascinating to learn more about who you are. When I do, I am amazed at how much there is to learn from my ancestors.
